Aero Norway, a prominent specialist in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of CFM56 and LEAP engines, has secured the internationally recognized AS9110 certification. Rigorous Certification Process and Quality Management

The certification followed a comprehensive five-day audit conducted by independent assessors from the United Kingdom and Sweden. The evaluation thoroughly examined Aero Norway’s quality management system, focusing on critical areas such as risk management, regulatory compliance, documentation control, personnel competency, and customer satisfaction. Auditors also reviewed maintenance process control, work order management, corrective and preventive action systems, continuous improvement initiatives, and supply chain management.

Raja Mohan Ravi, Aero Norway’s Manager of Quality & ERP, emphasized the company’s proactive preparation for the audit. He explained that a detailed internal review was undertaken to align procedures and enhance documentation, ensuring full compliance with AS9110 standards. Unlike broader certifications such as ISO 9001, AS9110 is specifically designed for aerospace MRO organizations, incorporating stringent aviation safety and regulatory requirements.

“This certification is held by very few engine MROs, making it a distinct achievement for Aero Norway,” Ravi stated. He highlighted that AS9110 demands a strong emphasis on risk-based thinking, process control, and continuous improvement—critical elements in engine MRO operations where errors can have serious safety and financial implications.
