Eve Air Mobility Secures $15.8 Million Grant from FINEP to Advance Sustainable Aviation
Eve Air Mobility has been awarded a grant of up to US$15.8 million by FINEP, Brazil’s Funding Authority for Studies and Projects, under a public call aimed at fostering sustainable aviation technologies. The total investment in the initiative is expected to reach US$33.8 million, including Eve’s own financial contribution. This grant represents the company’s first non-repayable funding and underscores its position as a leader in the development of sustainable urban air mobility solutions. The funding is part of FINEP’s “Technologies for More Sustainable Aviation” program, which prioritizes innovation in autonomous flight systems, hybrid-electric and hydrogen propulsion, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) testing, and advanced air traffic management. Eve’s project proposal aligns closely with these strategic areas, reflecting its commitment to pioneering technologies essential to its growth and innovation agenda.
Strategic Partnership and Vision for Urban Air Mobility
Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility, described the partnership with FINEP as a significant milestone for both the company and the Brazilian aerospace sector. He emphasized the company’s mission to transform how people interact with time, space, and urban environments by delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient air mobility solutions. Drawing on Embraer’s 55-year heritage and Eve’s innovative approach, Bordais highlighted that the grant will accelerate the development of advanced digital technologies and solutions that are expected to shape the future landscape of urban air mobility in Brazil and internationally.
Enhancing the Digital Ecosystem and eVTOL Development
Central to the project is the enhancement of Eve’s digital ecosystem, particularly through the advancement of its TechCare platform. This platform provides a comprehensive range of aftermarket services designed to support electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) operations, including maintenance, training, battery and parts management, and flight operations support. Concurrently, Eve is conducting extensive testing of its eVTOL prototype to evaluate its performance, safety, and operational capabilities, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable aviation development.
