ACG to Lease Seven Boeing 737-10s to Skymark Airlines
Strategic Fleet Expansion for Skymark Airlines
Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG), a leading global aircraft asset manager, announced on July 20, 2026, at the Farnborough International Airshow, the signing of lease agreements with Skymark Airlines for seven Boeing 737-10 aircraft. The first of these aircraft is scheduled for delivery in 2028, sourced from ACG’s existing orderbook. This acquisition is a key component of Skymark’s broader strategy to expand and modernize its fleet, enabling the airline to sustainably increase capacity on critical routes from its primary hub at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, one of the busiest airports worldwide.
Thomas Baker, CEO and President of ACG, emphasized the significance of the agreement, noting that for airlines operating in high-density markets with slot constraints, enhancing capacity and operational efficiency is essential. He highlighted the Boeing 737-10 as the largest model in the 737 MAX family, offering a high-capacity configuration and operational flexibility that aligns well with Skymark’s growth objectives.
Yoshihiro Miwa, President and Representative Director of Skymark Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about integrating the 737-10 into the fleet, underscoring its status as the highest-capacity aircraft in the MAX series. He welcomed the partnership with ACG and anticipated that the new aircraft would enhance the passenger experience while supporting the airline’s expansion.
Skymark’s Fleet and ACG’s Role in the 737-10 Market
Marking its 30th anniversary in 2026, Skymark currently operates a fleet of 30 Boeing 737-800 and 737-8 aircraft. Earlier in May 2026, the airline became the first in Japan to introduce the Boeing 737-8, launching service on the Tokyo Haneda-Fukuoka route. The new leases for the 737-10s build upon ACG’s existing relationship with Skymark, which includes previous leases of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
As a launch customer for the Boeing 737-10, ACG holds a leading position among lessors of Boeing’s newest and largest 737 MAX variant. The company’s orderbook for the 737-10 extends from anticipated deliveries beginning in late 2026 through 2033, reflecting its commitment to supporting airlines with the latest aircraft technology.
