ASL Airlines Australia Chooses Acron Aviation CTS

ASL Airlines Australia Selects Acron Aviation CTS for Boeing 737 Training Through 2028
Acron Aviation Commercial Training Solutions (CTS) has secured a multi-year preferred supplier agreement with ASL Airlines Australia to provide Boeing 737 type-rating training through the end of 2028. This expanded partnership builds on the successful delivery of type-rating courses for ASL pilots at CTS’s London Training Centre during the first half of 2026 and now extends to include Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC) training.
Tailored Training and Operational Integration
Under the terms of the agreement, CTS has worked closely with ASL Airlines Australia to customise its type-rating curriculum, completing a standardisation programme that incorporates the airline’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) directly into the training modules. This integration is designed to ensure that pilots are thoroughly prepared for operational realities from the outset, enhancing both safety and efficiency.
Captain Nathan Burkitt, Head of Training and Checking, Flight Operations at ASL Australia, highlighted the positive reception of the training programme. He noted that feedback from trainees has been overwhelmingly favourable, particularly praising the professionalism, expertise, and dedication of the instructors in supporting pilot success.
Patrick Davis, Vice-President and General Manager of Acron Aviation CTS’s London Training Centre, welcomed the extended collaboration. He emphasised that the agreement reflects ASL Australia’s confidence in CTS’s training quality, instructor capabilities, and customer-focused approach, which collectively prepare pilots effectively for airline operations from day one.
Industry Context and Future Implications
The decision to deepen the partnership with Acron Aviation CTS comes amid a broader industry trend towards leveraging advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency. For ASL Airlines Australia, adopting CTS’s training solutions presents both opportunities and challenges, requiring adaptation to new technologies and seamless integration with existing operational frameworks.
Industry observers note that such strategic moves often attract scrutiny from competitors and regulatory authorities, with rival training providers potentially responding through their own technological advancements or strategic adjustments. Market analysts view ASL Airlines Australia’s choice as consistent with sector-wide efforts to improve pilot readiness and safety through innovative training partnerships.
This agreement also follows the recent announcement that FlightSafety International (FSI) will acquire the Commercial Training Solutions business from Acron Technologies, a development that may further influence the competitive landscape in pilot training services.
With this new agreement, ASL Airlines Australia and Acron Aviation CTS are positioned to navigate the evolving training environment, aiming to establish new benchmarks in pilot preparation and operational excellence through their collaborative efforts.
