Austria's TJS Resumes Citation Jet 1 Operations

Austria's Tyrolean Jet & Service Resumes Citation Jet 1 Operations
Tyrolean Jet & Service (TJS), based in Innsbruck, has reinstated operations of the Citation Jet 1 following the integration of a new aircraft into its fleet. This development represents a notable shift in the company’s fleet composition and operational strategy within the European business aviation sector.
Fleet Transition and Recent Activity
In late 2024, TJS began a significant fleet transition by phasing out several aircraft, including a Citation Jet 1+ and two Citation Jet 2 models, all of which are currently listed for sale. The newly acquired Citation Jet 1, a 24-year-old aircraft registered as T7-5MM (msn 525-0435), entered service on May 29, 2025. Since its reactivation, the jet has operated flights between Mönchengladbach and Schwäbisch Hall Adolf Würth, continuing onward to Munich Augsburg, where it is currently based. Prior to joining TJS, the aircraft was registered in Germany as D-IAWU and had been parked at Mönchengladbach since early December 2024 following a flight from Münster/Osnabrück.
Current Fleet and Operational Structure
TJS’s Austrian-registered fleet now includes the Citation Jet 1, Citation XLS+, Phenom 300E, and the recently added Praetor 600, which was incorporated in March 2025. Beyond its Austrian operations, TJS Malta manages a Falcon 7X and a PC-12, thereby expanding the company’s operational reach within the region.
Registration and Certification Developments
The addition of the Citation Jet 1 also marks TJS’s renewed engagement with San Marino-registered aircraft. The company previously operated two T7-registered jets under its TJS San Marino division until 2019. Although TJS San Marino obtained an air operator’s certificate (AOC) in 2016, it is no longer listed as an active AOC holder. This recent fleet update highlights TJS’s strategic approach to aircraft utilization and registration, reinforcing its sustained presence in the competitive European business aviation market.
