StandardAero Completes Gogo Galileo HDX and FDX STCs

StandardAero Advances In-Flight Connectivity with New Gogo Galileo STCs
StandardAero (NYSE: SARO), a prominent independent provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services, has announced the successful completion of supplemental type certificates (STCs) for the installation of Gogo Galileo half-duplex (HDX) and full-duplex (FDX) antennas on Bombardier Challenger 600 series aircraft. This development marks a significant step for StandardAero in the expanding in-flight connectivity market, responding to the growing demand for reliable onboard internet solutions.
Expanding Capabilities Through FAA Authorization and Strategic Partnerships
Holding Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), StandardAero is empowered to issue STCs on the agency’s behalf. The company has completed over 1,600 STC programs encompassing engine, airframe, and avionics modifications across a diverse range of business, commercial, and helicopter aircraft platforms. Earlier this year, Gogo (NASDAQ: GOGO) selected StandardAero’s Springfield, Illinois facility at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport (SPI) to develop the Gogo Galileo HDX installation STC, alongside the FDX antenna and installation STCs for Challenger 600, 601, 604, 605, and 650 models. The HDX installation was finalized on a Challenger 605 at Springfield, while the FDX installation took place concurrently on a Challenger 604 at StandardAero’s Van Nuys Airport (VNY) location.
Tony Brancato, President of StandardAero Business Aviation, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering timely customer solutions, stating, “Adding two more successful Gogo STCs to our growing list coming from the StandardAero ODA office is another example of how we can deliver customer-needed modifications to market with more speed.” He also expressed pride in the collaboration with Gogo and the aircraft operators who facilitated the installations, highlighting ongoing cooperation on upcoming 2026 STC projects.
Positioning Amidst Industry Competition and Market Growth
StandardAero’s accomplishment arrives amid intensifying competition among maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) providers, many of whom are expanding their capabilities in the in-flight connectivity sector. As aircraft operators increasingly prioritize dependable connectivity solutions, demand for such modifications is expected to rise. This environment may drive rival MRO companies to pursue similar STCs, potentially fostering competitive pricing and accelerating innovation within the industry.
Gogo’s expanding portfolio of STCs for its Galileo service reflects the broader growth in the in-flight connectivity market. With more operators seeking to upgrade their fleets with advanced communication systems, StandardAero’s expertise and proven track record in executing complex modifications position it favorably in a dynamic market landscape. These new STCs further solidify StandardAero’s role as a trusted partner for both aircraft operators and connectivity providers, ready to address the evolving needs of the aviation sector.
