ACJ TwoTwenty Completes First Delivery in Asia-Pacific

ACJ TwoTwenty Completes First Delivery in Asia-Pacific
Airbus Corporate Jets has marked a significant milestone with the delivery of its first ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region. This handover represents the fourth global entry into service of the model and is notable for being the first completed under a turnkey contract, with interior outfitting managed by Comlux. The aircraft was delivered to a large, undisclosed corporation. Jet Aviation will assume responsibility for the aircraft’s management and maintenance, utilizing its Singapore facility, which recently joined the ACJ Service Centre Network in March 2025.
Expanding Presence in Asia-Pacific
This delivery follows the initial three ACJ TwoTwenty handovers to Middle Eastern customers between 2023 and 2025. Airbus has announced that two additional Asian clients, representing the fifth and sixth deliveries worldwide, are scheduled to receive their aircraft in 2026 and 2027. All three Asian customers to date have transitioned from traditional large business jets, indicating a regional shift toward larger, more capable corporate aircraft.
The ACJ TwoTwenty is based on the A220 narrowbody platform and offers an impressive range of 5,650 nautical miles, enabling nonstop flights exceeding 12 hours. This capability allows for direct connections between city pairs such as Hong Kong to Anchorage, Singapore to Auckland, and Jakarta to Ankara. The aircraft is also designed to operate on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blends of up to 50 percent, with Airbus targeting full 100 percent SAF compatibility across its commercial and corporate fleets by 2030.
Regulatory Approvals and Market Impact
The introduction of the ACJ TwoTwenty in the Asia-Pacific market follows successful navigation of regulatory approval processes, including the acquisition of the FAA supplemental type certificate. This regulatory groundwork is expected to facilitate future deliveries and enhance confidence among regional operators.
Market response in Asia-Pacific has been notably positive, with increasing interest from business aviation clients seeking larger, long-range jets. The arrival of the ACJ TwoTwenty is anticipated to intensify competition within the luxury jet segment, prompting rival manufacturers such as Embraer and Piper to increase their marketing efforts. Piper, for instance, is currently awaiting FAA approval for its M700 Fury’s seven-blade propeller, underscoring the competitive dynamics in the sector.
Chadi Saade, president of Airbus Corporate Jets, emphasized the significance of this delivery, stating, “We are delighted that the ACJ TwoTwenty is making its debut in Asia, carving out a new market segment, the Xtra Large Bizjet. By combining its intercontinental range and cabin space with the local technical expertise of Jet Aviation Singapore, we are delivering a complete ecosystem.”
With its advanced capabilities and expanding support infrastructure, the ACJ TwoTwenty is positioned to reshape the business aviation landscape in Asia-Pacific, offering corporate clients a new benchmark in range, comfort, and sustainability.
