Gulfstream G500 and G600 Fleet Surpasses 400 Customer Deliveries
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation has announced a significant milestone with the 400th customer delivery of its acclaimed Gulfstream G500 and G600 aircraft. This achievement highlights the sustained global demand for these models, which are recognized for their innovation and leadership in performance. The milestone delivery involved a G600, completed at Gulfstream’s St. Louis facility, destined for a customer in the Asia-Pacific region.
Operational Performance and Record-Setting Achievements
Since entering service, the combined G500 and G600 fleet has amassed over 519,000 flight hours and more than 200,000 landings, demonstrating exceptional operational reliability across worldwide routes. The program has set over 190 city-pair speed records, contributing to Gulfstream’s total of 815 records. Notably, the G600 recently completed a record-breaking flight from Sapporo, Japan, to Savannah, covering 5,835 nautical miles (10,806 kilometers) in 11 hours and 38 minutes at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.88.
Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “Reaching 400 deliveries is a testament to the confidence customers around the world continue to place in Gulfstream and in the G500 and G600. Together, these aircraft have fueled sustained demand for our next-generation fleet and play a pivotal role in Gulfstream’s vision to offer an aircraft for every mission.”
Advanced Design and Certification Enhancements
The G500 and G600 introduced the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck and have received numerous accolades for their interior design, quality, and craftsmanship. Both aircraft feature a clean-sheet design with a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925. The Gulfstream Cabin Experience includes 100% fresh air, a plasma ionization air purification system, industry-leading cabin altitude, and the distinctive Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows.
Earlier this year, both models obtained certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for steep-approach landings. This certification expands access to a broader range of airports globally, including London City Airport, thereby offering customers enhanced operational flexibility.
