Passenger Terminal Expo Asia 2026 to Showcase Innovations in Singapore
Passenger Terminal Expo Asia (PTE Asia), the newest and most forward-looking event in the airport industry within the Asia-Pacific region, is set to make its debut in Singapore on 23–24 September 2026. Hosted at the iconic Marina Bay Sands, the event is supported by a strategic partnership with Changi Airport Group and guided by a distinguished Advisory Board. PTE Asia aspires to establish itself as the premier platform for innovation, collaboration, and strategic dialogue amid the rapidly evolving aviation landscape in Asia-Pacific.
Changi Airport Group’s Role in Regional Leadership
Changi Airport Group, widely recognized for its excellence in passenger experience and operational innovation, will serve as the Host Airport for the inaugural PTE Asia. Damon Wong, Senior Vice President of Airport Operations Planning at Changi Airport Group, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating that the event offers a critical platform to foster cooperation and exchange ideas that will enhance safer, smarter, and more seamless passenger journeys. This partnership underscores the region’s ambition to strengthen its position as a global leader in aviation.
Changi Airport Group’s involvement ensures that the event’s agenda will be closely aligned with both regional priorities and international standards. Key topics to be addressed include infrastructure development, sustainability, digital transformation, and the enhancement of passenger experience, reflecting the pressing challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Strategic Advisory Board and Industry Expertise
The strategic direction and conference programme of PTE Asia will be shaped by a newly appointed Advisory Board comprising senior leaders from airports, airlines, regulatory bodies, and aviation consultancies. The board includes prominent figures such as Athanasios Titonis, CEO of Aboitiz Operating Airports; BVJK Sharma, CEO of Navi Mumbai Airport; Chapman Fong, Director of Hub Development at Airport Authority Hong Kong; and Glory Wee, Acting Deputy Director-General of the Singapore Aviation Academy, CAAS. Other notable members include Kesavan Sivanandam, Deputy Group COO of AirAsia; Mabel Kwan, Managing Director of Alton Aviation Consultancy; Patrick Ky, CEO of the International Centre for Aviation Innovation (ICAI); and Dr. Paweena Jariyathitipong, President of Airports of Thailand Public.
The collective expertise of this Advisory Board is expected to guide the event’s long-term vision, ensuring that it remains relevant and responsive to the current challenges and trends within the aviation industry.
Addressing a Complex and Evolving Aviation Environment
PTE Asia 2026 arrives at a critical juncture for the Asia-Pacific aviation sector, which continues to experience robust growth despite emerging challenges. Geopolitical tensions are increasingly influencing travel demand patterns, with regional routes and secondary cities gaining prominence. The recent decision by Hamad International Airport to withdraw from all external exhibitions due to ongoing regional conflicts highlights the volatility and uncertainty confronting the industry.
In response, airlines and airports are adapting to structural barriers by adopting innovative strategies similar to those seen in other markets such as Brazil, where underdeveloped infrastructure has accelerated technological and operational advancements. The growing influence of AI-driven platforms, alongside coordinated policy initiatives and capital investments, is reshaping distribution channels and airport infrastructure across the region.
A Platform for Future-Focused Dialogue
As the Passenger Terminal Expo brand expands into Asia, PTE Asia 2026 is poised to become a vital forum for addressing both the opportunities and challenges within the dynamic aviation market of the Asia-Pacific region. With strong regional partnerships and a clear focus on innovation, the event aims to contribute significantly to shaping the future of air travel in this rapidly developing part of the world.
