AERO 2026 Anticipated to Draw Strong Attendance Amid Rising Aircraft Deliveries and Sales
AERO 2026, a leading international tradeshow for general aviation, business aviation, and air sports, is scheduled to take place from April 22 to 25, 2026. The event is poised to attract record attendance, buoyed by a favorable market environment characterized by a significant increase in aircraft deliveries and sales. This positive trend underscores a robust recovery in aerospace demand following recent years of industry challenges.
Market Growth and Industry Performance
Data from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) reveal that global deliveries in 2025 reached 3,230 new aircraft alongside 938 new civil helicopters. While aircraft deliveries rose by 2.2%, helicopter deliveries experienced a slight decline of 1.9% compared to 2024. Despite this minor dip, overall sales surged markedly, with aircraft sales increasing by 16.1% to $31 billion and helicopter sales rising 5.5% to $4.7 billion. The combined annual billings for the sector exceeded $35 billion, setting a new industry record.
James Viola, president and CEO of GAMA, emphasized the resilience of the general aviation manufacturing sector. He noted that although some segments saw marginal declines in deliveries, all remain above pre-pandemic 2019 levels. Viola highlighted the industry's commitment to meeting current demand while prioritizing advancements in safety and innovation to secure the future of aviation.
The positive momentum extends beyond general aviation into the commercial aerospace sector. January 2026 saw a notable uptick in commercial aircraft orders, reflecting renewed confidence across the industry. The UK aerospace supply chain, in particular, is expected to sustain at least 13 years of work, potentially contributing up to £267 billion to the national economy. Leading companies such as ITP Aero and MTU Aero Engines anticipate continued growth driven by strong demand and ongoing series production. Nevertheless, manufacturers continue to navigate challenges related to supply chain disruptions and regulatory uncertainties, underscoring the need for resilience as production scales up.
AERO 2026: Industry Engagement and Exhibitor Participation
The optimistic industry outlook is mirrored in preparations for AERO 2026. Tobias Bretzel, show director at fairnamic, reported a 25 percent increase in exhibitor registrations compared to the same period in 2025. The event will feature participation from all major general aviation manufacturers, including Textron Aviation, Cirrus Aircraft, Diamond Aircraft, Piper Aircraft, Tecnam, Elixir Aircraft, and Robin Aircraft. Many exhibitors plan to unveil world, European, and AERO premieres, providing attendees with an extensive showcase of the latest innovations and products.
Business aviation will also have an expanded presence at the event. The AERO Business Aviation Show Hub, centered around the enlarged Business Aviation Dome, will now encompass Halls A1, A2, and A3 to accommodate growing demand. The exhibition will include joint stands from prominent national and international associations such as the German Business Aviation Association (GBAA), Austrian Business Aviation Association (ABAA), International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA), and the Air Charter Association (ACA).
