Joramco Signs Maintenance Agreements with FLYONE Asia and Air Samarkand

Joramco Expands Presence in Central Asia with New Maintenance Agreements
Joramco, the Amman-based maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider, has announced new maintenance contracts with two Uzbekistan-based airlines, FLYONE Asia and Air Samarkand. The agreements, unveiled at MRO Middle East 2026, represent a strategic effort by Joramco to deepen its footprint in the Central Asian narrowbody aircraft maintenance sector.
Strategic Partnerships to Support Fleet Growth
As an engineering subsidiary of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), Joramco will undertake heavy maintenance checks on Airbus A320 aircraft for both carriers. These partnerships are intended to support the airlines’ fleet expansion and regional growth ambitions. FLYONE Asia, affiliated with the FLYONE Group, and Air Samarkand will leverage Joramco’s facilities to meet their increasing operational demands.
Fraser Currie, Chief Strategy & Commercial Officer at DAE Engineering, emphasized the significance of these collaborations, stating, “Welcoming Air Samarkand and FLYONE Asia reflects our growing role in supporting emerging and fast-developing aviation markets. These partnerships demonstrate confidence in Joramco’s narrowbody capabilities and our ability to support airlines as they scale their operations.”
Challenges and Industry Implications
Joramco’s expansion into Central Asia comes amid rising demand for MRO services in the region, necessitating operational scaling to accommodate new clients without compromising service quality. The Middle East MRO sector is currently grappling with labor shortages, which intensify competition among providers. Industry analysts suggest that rival MRO companies may respond by enhancing their service portfolios or expanding training initiatives to attract airlines seeking dependable maintenance partners.
Furthermore, the new agreements will attract scrutiny from regulatory authorities focused on compliance with international aviation safety standards. Securing regulatory approvals and upholding stringent safety protocols will be essential as Joramco broadens its client base.
Despite these challenges, the contracts with FLYONE Asia and Air Samarkand highlight Joramco’s ambition to consolidate its position in rapidly growing aviation markets and reinforce its reputation as a leading provider of narrowbody aircraft maintenance in the region.
