HiSERV Expands Aviation GSE Leasing with Launch of North America Division
HiSERV, a leading global provider of aviation ground support equipment (GSE) leasing solutions, has announced the establishment of HiSERV North America, marking a strategic expansion into the United States and Canadian markets. This development enhances HiSERV’s global platform and strengthens its capacity to support aviation partners across key international hubs.
Strategic Expansion into North America
HiSERV North America will deliver flexible, capital-efficient leasing options for airlines, ground handlers, and airport operators throughout the U.S. and Canada. The new division aims to facilitate modernization efforts by supporting common-use GSE pooling models and accelerating the adoption of next-generation and electric ground support equipment. Backed by long-term institutional capital, HiSERV North America is positioned to scale its fleet and provide sustained support through multi-year investment cycles. A particular emphasis will be placed on financing electric and low-emission GSE fleets, aligning with broader airport sustainability initiatives.
The North American aviation market, recognized as the largest globally, is currently undergoing a significant phase of fleet modernization and infrastructure investment. HiSERV’s entry into this market coincides with growing demand from airlines and ground handlers for innovative solutions that balance equipment upgrades with capital management. The company’s disciplined approach to fleet investment and scalable portfolio growth is well aligned with prevailing industry trends toward sustainability and operational efficiency.
Challenges and Leadership Focus
Despite the promising outlook, HiSERV faces notable challenges in its North American expansion. Regulatory complexities and intense competition from established firms such as AMR Corporation and AWAS present significant hurdles. Additionally, the diverse market conditions across the continent require tailored strategies to address varying customer needs. Industry observers anticipate cautious reception from airlines wary of new entrants, while competitors may respond by enhancing service offerings or adjusting pricing to maintain market share. Nevertheless, recent data indicates substantial growth potential for companies capable of navigating this competitive environment effectively.
Roland Ueckert, CEO of HiSERV Group, underscored the strategic significance of the expansion, stating, “North America represents a natural evolution of our global platform. It is one of the most sophisticated aviation markets in the world, and we see significant opportunity to partner with airlines, ground handlers, and airports seeking flexible capital solutions to support fleet modernization and operational growth. By bringing our leasing platform and global expertise to North America, our goal is to support our partners with flexible capital solutions that enable operational progress and fleet renewals.”
HiSERV North America will be led by Erin O’Donnell, who will initially focus on establishing operations in the United States and expanding regional partnerships. Supporting her leadership, Matt Weitzel has joined as vice president of Sales and Marketing, with David Farias appointed as director of Sales. O’Donnell emphasized the company’s commitment to disciplined execution and long-term collaboration, noting, “As airlines and ground handlers continue to modernize fleets while managing capital priorities, we are positioned to deliver flexible leasing solutions that meet operational needs while improving financial efficiency. Our priority is to build a high-quality portfolio and establish HiSERV as a trusted partner by delivering consistent service, responsive execution, and solutions aligned with our customers’ operational and financial objectives.”
The launch of HiSERV North America represents a pivotal milestone in the company’s global growth strategy, as it seeks to build a robust asset base and cultivate enduring customer relationships within a dynamic and competitive market.
