STARLUX Airlines Chairman Chang Kuo-wei personally captained the airline’s first Airbus A350-1000 delivery flight from Toulouse, France, to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) on January 6, 2026. A licensed pilot and former chairman of EVA Air, Chang is widely recognized for his meticulous approach to airline management. His decision to pilot the delivery flight underscored the importance of the A350-1000 as STARLUX’s new flagship aircraft.
The transcontinental journey covered thousands of nautical miles and concluded with a smooth landing at TPE, where the aircraft was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute.
