US Private Jets Resumes Hawker Beechcraft Operations

US Private Jets Resumes Hawker Beechcraft Operations Amid Market Uncertainties
Private Jets, headquartered at Oklahoma City Wiley Post Airport (OKC), has reinstated its Hawker Beechcraft charter services following a year-long suspension. The company has added a Beechjet 400XT to its fleet, a 33.6-year-old aircraft registered as N75TG (msn RK-28), which is now available for charter and based at Wiley Post. Configured to accommodate up to eight passengers, the jet was previously operated privately and commenced service under Private Jets’ ‘OKC’ code on June 14, according to President Eric Wells.
Market Context and Industry Challenges
This operational resumption occurs amid significant uncertainty within the business aviation sector. The imposition of U.S. tariffs has led manufacturers such as Pilatus to halt jet deliveries, indicating potential disruptions in the broader market. Despite a decline in activity during the second quarter, the preowned aircraft market has demonstrated resilience, maintaining robust demand. However, the reemergence of politicized jetliner sales and evolving trade policies threaten to complicate the competitive environment further. These developments are likely to compel operators and manufacturers alike to reevaluate pricing structures and product strategies to safeguard their market positions.
Fleet Composition and Strategic Implications
Private Jets had previously operated three Beechjet 400XTs, all of which were removed from its Part 135 certificate in November 2024, alongside a Hawker 400XT. Since 2018, the company’s fleet has also included an additional Hawker 400XT and two Beechjet 400As, variants of the same aircraft family.
As of July, Private Jets’ Part 135-certified fleet comprises a Learjet 31A (ZR Lite), which has been stationed at Oklahoma City Wiley Post since December 2024; two Learjet 40XRs, with one parked at the same airport since January 2025; a Learjet 45; a Learjet 45XR; a Learjet 75, following the phase-out of two other units in the past six months; a Challenger 300; a Citation I/SP; three Legacy 600s; and a Beech King Air C90 twin turboprop.
The decision to reintroduce the Beechjet 400XT reflects Private Jets’ strategic response to shifting market dynamics and a commitment to broadening its charter offerings. Nevertheless, with ongoing tariff-related uncertainties and intensifying competition, the company and its industry peers will need to maintain operational agility as the business aviation landscape continues to evolve.
