FL Technics Gains Four New Aircraft Approvals in UAE, Expands Wide-Body Portfolio

FL Technics Expands Wide-Body Maintenance Capabilities with New UAE Approvals
Dubai, 19 August 2026 — FL Technics LLC, the Middle East subsidiary of the global maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider FL Technics, has secured approvals to service four additional aircraft types in the United Arab Emirates. The newly authorized models include the Airbus A350, Boeing 777, Boeing 787, and Boeing 737 MAX equipped with LEAP-1B engines. These certifications significantly broaden the company’s existing narrow-body maintenance expertise and will be implemented across three key UAE airports: Zayed International Airport (AUH), Dubai International Airport (DXB), and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Furthermore, the expanded approvals enable FL Technics LLC to extend support for these aircraft types throughout its managed outstations in the region.
Strategic Growth in a Competitive Market
This development marks a strategic expansion of FL Technics’ portfolio, allowing the company to offer comprehensive line maintenance services for both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft. The move aligns with the evolving demands of Middle Eastern airlines as they introduce new-generation fleets. Arif Alameri, CEO of FL Technics LLC, emphasized the significance of these approvals, describing them as a pivotal step in the company’s growth and technical advancement. He highlighted the objective of providing airlines with reliable and accessible line maintenance support across the UAE, while also enhancing regional and outstation operations as the company’s network continues to expand.
With the inclusion of the A350, 777, 787, and 737 MAX, FL Technics LLC’s approved aircraft portfolio now covers 11 types. The company asserts it possesses the organizational capacity, technical infrastructure, and expertise necessary to support these aircraft within the approved scope. Over the past two years, FL Technics engineers have completed more than 1,500 flying-spanner assignments, demonstrating operational flexibility and readiness to meet diverse customer needs, ranging from routine daily checks and borescope inspections to round-the-clock AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support and engine changes.
Navigating Challenges in the UAE MRO Landscape
Despite these advancements, FL Technics faces considerable challenges in the UAE’s competitive MRO environment. The company must navigate complex regulatory frameworks and adapt to local market conditions while contending with well-established regional competitors. The recent approvals are expected to attract increased scrutiny from aviation authorities and may trigger shifts in market dynamics among MRO providers. Competitors are likely to respond by enhancing their own wide-body service capabilities or expanding operational footprints within the UAE to maintain market share.
Alameri underscored the strategic importance of the UAE as a critical aviation hub, stating that FL Technics aims to strengthen its presence in the country and support airlines not only at its UAE stations but increasingly across their broader networks.
FL Technics LLC operates under the umbrella of the FL Technics Group, a global MRO solutions provider within Avia Solutions Group. Avia Solutions Group is recognized as the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, managing a fleet of 136 aircraft and offering a comprehensive portfolio of aviation services, including MRO, pilot and crew training, and ground handling.
