FL Technics Indonesia Certified for Boeing 737 MAX Maintenance
DGCA Approval Expands Maintenance Capabilities
FL Technics Indonesia has secured certification from the Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to conduct both line and base maintenance on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, specifically the 737-8 and 737-9 models equipped with CFM LEAP-1B engines. This approval encompasses the company’s facilities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. The certification marks a significant advancement in FL Technics Indonesia’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities for next-generation aircraft within Indonesia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Martynas Grigas, Chairman of FL Technics Indonesia, emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating that it reflects the engineering team’s expertise in supporting the advanced airframe systems, avionics, and powerplant technologies of the Boeing 737 MAX. He noted that the certification enhances the company’s ability to assist operators transitioning to more fuel-efficient fleets, thereby reinforcing FL Technics Indonesia’s reputation as a dependable MRO partner throughout Southeast Asia.
Strategic Positioning in the Regional MRO Market
The new certification strategically positions FL Technics Indonesia to attract a growing number of Boeing 737 MAX operators seeking maintenance services in the region. Although the company will encounter competition from established MRO providers, this expanded capability is anticipated to generate increased market interest and potentially boost its share of the 737 MAX maintenance sector. Industry analysts observe that competitor responses remain uncertain, but the move undeniably strengthens FL Technics Indonesia’s standing among airlines operating the latest Boeing narrowbody jets.
In addition to the 737 MAX, FL Technics Indonesia continues to provide comprehensive MRO solutions for Boeing Classic, Next Generation (NG), and MAX aircraft, as well as the Airbus A320ceo and neo families. Its engine maintenance portfolio includes support for CFM56-3/5/7, V2500-A, LEAP-1A/1B, and PW1100G engines, further consolidating its role as a key MRO provider in the Asia-Pacific aviation market.
With the DGCA certification, FL Technics Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of airline operators as they modernize their fleets, aiming to deliver reliable and efficient maintenance services across Southeast Asia and beyond.
