AMETEK MRO Antavia Renews Support Agreement with DHC

AMETEK MRO Antavia Renews Support Agreement with De Havilland Canada
AMETEK MRO Antavia (Antavia) has announced the renewal of its global maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) contract with De Havilland Canada (DHC), reaffirming its position as a principal support provider for the CL215, CL215T, and CL415 waterbomber aircraft. This extension builds upon a longstanding partnership that originated in 2003 with the Bombardier Aircraft Amphibious Division and was further formalized in 2017 through a factory-endorsed component centre agreement with Viking Aircraft. Over more than two decades, Antavia has developed a specialized MRO program tailored to the unique operational demands of these firefighting aircraft.
Proven Expertise and Strategic Investment
Antavia’s expertise is demonstrated by its extensive global footprint, having processed and returned over 2,500 landing gear components for waterbombers operating across four continents, nine countries, and seven Canadian provinces. This broad support network highlights the company’s technical proficiency and reliability in maintaining critical firefighting fleets.
To enhance service efficiency, Antavia has invested in excess of €10 million in spare parts, continuously expanding its inventory to minimize turnaround times for operators worldwide. This strategic investment ensures rapid and dependable support, reinforcing Antavia’s reputation for reliability and contributing to positive market reception.
Industry Context and Future Outlook
The contract renewal has been positively received within the industry, though it occurs amid a competitive MRO environment. Other providers are anticipated to respond by elevating their service offerings to meet Antavia’s standards of technical performance and customer service. Nevertheless, Antavia’s established track record and ongoing investments position it strongly to maintain leadership in supporting legacy and specialized aircraft.
Beyond maintenance and repair, the partnership between Antavia and DHC emphasizes the integration of the latest engineering and technological advancements. This approach aims to preserve the operational integrity of the CL215, CL215T, and CL415 fleets while enhancing efficiency and environmental sustainability. Such forward-looking initiatives ensure these aircraft remain at the forefront of aerial firefighting, prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
The extended agreement underscores AMETEK MRO Antavia’s commitment to excellence in supporting vital aviation missions. Through continued investment in resources and innovation, Antavia seeks to safeguard communities and natural landscapes, maintaining its pivotal role in the global firefighting effort amid increasing competition in the MRO sector.
