Engine Assurance Program Expands Hourly Maintenance Services Amid Growing Competition
The Engine Assurance Program (EAP) has announced a significant expansion of its hourly engine maintenance services, incorporating several new engine models from leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) into its portfolio. The program now includes coverage for the Rolls-Royce BR710C4-11, General Electric CF34-3B, Honeywell HTF7000, and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C engines, broadening its reach across a wider range of aircraft.
Broadening Coverage for Diverse Aircraft Fleets
This expansion enables operators to access EAP’s services for a variety of aircraft, including the Challenger 604, Falcon 2000EX/EX EASy/DX/S/LX/LXS, Challenger 300, and Gulfstream G550. Sean Lynch, managing director of EAP, highlighted the program’s value in extending the operational life of out-of-production aircraft. He noted, “With EAP, out-of-production aircraft can stay in the air longer, giving life to these still highly versatile airframes. The engines served by EAP have logged millions of hours of service. When EAP keeps an aircraft flying longer, there is an entire revenue stream and trickle-down effect that feeds the whole industry.”
Lynch also emphasized the convenience of EAP’s consolidated maintenance approach. Unlike OEM-affiliated programs, EAP offers an agnostic service model that can cover multiple engine types within a single flight department. “If your flight department operates a Challenger 604, Gulfstream 550, and a Falcon 900, we have you covered. We can be your single resource for all those engines and APUs,” he explained, underscoring the time and effort savings for customers.
Enhancing Reliability and Navigating Market Competition
EAP supports its customers with a team of nationally recognized engine experts, a reliable rental engine pool, and an extensive inventory of spare parts. By owning its spare parts and rental engines/APUs, the company aims to reduce supply chain disruptions and improve dispatch reliability, boasting a 99.98% dispatch reliability rate. This focus is particularly important for airframes that are often underserved in the marketplace.
The expansion comes amid intensifying competition within the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector. Competitors such as ST Engineering have recently enhanced their capabilities for CFM56 and Leap engines, while the Xtreme Group continues to grow its MRO services. As operators increasingly seek cost-effective maintenance solutions for aging engine models, the market is expected to experience rising demand and evolving service offerings. Competitors are responding by upgrading their programs and incorporating advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to boost efficiency and service quality.
