Global Aircraft Lessor Azorra Expands E2 Order, Pushing Embraer Program Past 500 Milestone
Global aircraft lessor Azorra has announced a substantial expansion of its regional narrowbody fleet by placing a firm order for 15 additional Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, along with securing purchase rights for 15 more jets. This agreement raises Azorra’s total firm E2 orders from 39 to 54, marking a significant milestone as Embraer’s E2 program surpasses 500 total orders.
Growing Demand for the E2 Family
The deal highlights the increasing demand for the E2 family among leasing companies and airlines. Embraer’s CEO emphasized that the order serves as a strong endorsement of the E2 program’s economic advantages, operational performance, and passenger appeal. The E195-E2, the largest model in Embraer’s E-Jet family, is engineered to provide airlines with enhanced flexibility in capacity management while delivering improved fuel efficiency and reduced operating costs.
Azorra’s expanded commitment reflects a broader market trend where lessors are prioritizing modern, efficient regional aircraft to address evolving airline requirements. Embraer’s success with the E2 program is further evidenced by the delivery of over 200 E2 jets to more than 24 airlines worldwide, underscoring the aircraft’s pivotal role in supporting carriers’ fleet optimization strategies.
Embraer’s Strengthened Position in Regional Jets
With this latest order, Embraer continues to consolidate its position in the regional jet market. The E2 family is gaining momentum among both operators and lessors seeking next-generation solutions tailored for regional and short-haul routes, reinforcing Embraer’s leadership in this segment.
