MRO Europe 2025: Iberia Maintenance joins Honeywell’s Channel Partner Network for engine and component support

Iberia Maintenance Joins Honeywell’s Channel Partner Network at MRO Europe 2025
At the Aviation Week MRO Europe 2025 event in London, Iberia Maintenance announced its entry into the Honeywell Channel Partner Network. This strategic partnership encompasses support for four principal product families: engine mechanical accessories, pneumatic, hydraulic, and avionics components. Notably, the agreement includes servicing widely used engine models such as the CFM56. All component maintenance and repair activities will be conducted at Iberia Maintenance’s La Muñoza facility in Madrid, Spain.
Strengthening Component Workshop Capabilities
The collaboration represents a significant step in Iberia Maintenance’s long-term strategy to enhance and specialise its component workshop operations. In 2024 alone, the facility certified over 28,000 units, underscoring its capacity and expertise. By joining Honeywell’s network, Iberia Maintenance aims to accelerate turnaround times, reduce operational costs, and achieve closer integration with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This alignment is expected to improve overall efficiency and competitiveness in the global MRO market.
Fernando Comenge, director of strategy, transformation, and supply chain at Iberia Maintenance, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “This agreement with Honeywell marks a key strategic step in reinforcing our international positioning in engine and component maintenance. By becoming a Channel Partner, we are strengthening our ties with OEMs and positioning ourselves at the very heart of their ecosystem. This closer integration gives us access to cutting-edge technology, enhances our specialisation, and allows us to deliver more competitive, agile, and efficient solutions to our customers.”
Navigating Industry Challenges and Market Dynamics
The announcement comes amid mounting challenges within the global Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector. Industry analysts, including BeauTech, have identified capacity shortfalls in MRO support for CF34-10 engines, raising concerns about the sector’s ability to meet increasing demand. The competitive environment is intensifying, with Delta TechOps expanding its component support contract with Jet2, and The Xtreme Group investing in MRO capabilities to support its 7Air cargo operations. Additionally, Aegean Airlines is preparing for significant disruptions linked to ongoing Pratt & Whitney GTF engine maintenance issues, highlighting operational pressures across the industry.
In this context, Iberia Maintenance’s integration into Honeywell’s Channel Partner Network is viewed as a strategic initiative to strengthen its international footprint and adapt to evolving market conditions. The partnership is expected to grant Iberia Maintenance enhanced access to OEM resources and advanced technologies, positioning the company to better address industry challenges and deliver improved service quality to its customers.
