Progress in Aircraft Development and Future Plans The $15 million loan is expected to mitigate risks associated with Eve’s aircraft development and testing programs. In December, Eve marked a significant milestone with the maiden flight of a full-scale, nonconforming prototype at its São Paulo facility. This remotely piloted hover flight, lasting approximately one minute, yielded valuable data on airframe design, control systems, and propulsion. The prototype also validated the integration of Embraer’s fifth-generation fly-by-wire system, a technology shared with Embraer’s E2 commercial jets and KC-390 military transport aircraft. Looking ahead, Eve plans to construct six conforming prototypes to support a comprehensive flight test campaign. Additional hover flights are scheduled before the aircraft transitions to wingborne forward flight, a critical capability that distinguishes eVTOL aircraft. Pilot training will be conducted through a joint venture between Embraer and CAE, ensuring operational readiness. As Embraer advances its air taxi ambitions, the company is simultaneously focusing on enhancing the A-29 Super Tucano’s counter-unmanned aircraft system capabilities and has issued a robust executive jet delivery forecast.
