Blade Announces Expanded Flight Service at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas

Blade Expands Flight Service for NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas
Blade Urban Air Mobility has announced an expanded schedule of flights for the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), which will be held next week in Las Vegas. Building on the success of previous years’ sold-out services, Blade will operate scheduled by-the-seat flights connecting the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) with the NBAA-BACE Aircraft Connection at Henderson Executive Airport (HND). Each flight will accommodate up to seven passengers, providing attendees with a direct experience of urban air mobility in action.
Strategic Partnership and Industry Significance
NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen welcomed the renewed collaboration, highlighting Blade’s pioneering role in urban, by-the-seat vertical transportation. Bolen emphasized that this model represents a critical component of the future of advanced air mobility. Rob Wiesenthal, CEO of Blade, underscored the practical benefits of the service, noting that the flights offer attendees a fast and reliable alternative to the often congested ground transportation options in Las Vegas. Wiesenthal also pointed to the presence of Joby Aviation’s static display at the event, which will showcase next-generation, quiet, and emission-free aircraft, offering a glimpse into the future of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) technology.
Industry Context and Competitive Dynamics
Blade’s expanded role at NBAA-BACE comes amid heightened regulatory scrutiny of the business aviation sector, with the convention’s agenda including sessions focused on recent high-profile aviation accidents and ongoing safety initiatives. This increased emphasis on safety and innovation is expected to attract significant attention from industry leaders and investors eager to engage with emerging trends and technological breakthroughs presented at the event.
The competitive landscape is intensifying as other aircraft manufacturers prepare to highlight their own advancements in response to Blade’s expanded offerings and Joby Aviation’s technological showcase. The event’s focus on industry philanthropy and future trends further reinforces the critical importance of innovation and safety in maintaining leadership within the business aviation market.
Blade and Joby Aviation Collaboration
Following its acquisition by Joby Aviation in August, Blade is well positioned to accelerate the commercialization of eVTOL air taxi services. Representatives from Joby will be available at the check-in area to discuss plans for integrating electric air taxis into Blade’s existing network, signaling a significant step forward in the adoption of sustainable urban air mobility solutions.
Flight pricing is set at $195 per seat for NBAA members and $245 for non-members, with private charters accommodating up to seven guests starting at $1,875. The NBAA-BACE event will take place from October 14 to 16 across venues in and around Las Vegas.
