Titan Aviation Leasing Acquires Two Airbus A330-300P2F Freighters for MAS

Titan Aviation Leasing Expands Fleet with Two Airbus A330-300P2F Freighters for MAS
Dublin, September 25, 2025 — Titan Aviation Leasing, a joint venture between Titan Aviation Holdings (a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide) and Bain Capital, has announced the acquisition of two Airbus A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) aircraft from Airbus Financial Services. Equipped with Rolls Royce engines and identified by manufacturer serial numbers 1789 and 1712, these aircraft have been placed on long-term lease to MAS, a prominent Mexican cargo carrier. Titan will oversee the management of these freighter assets as part of its growing portfolio.
Strategic Milestone and Industry Collaboration
This acquisition represents Titan’s first foray into Airbus freighters and is the inaugural transaction under Titan Aircraft Investments II, DAC (“TAI 2”), the company’s second dedicated freighter investment platform launched in partnership with Bain Capital earlier this month. The joint venture is focused on delivering flexible and efficient freighter leasing solutions on a global scale.
Eamonn Forbes, Chief Commercial Officer at Titan Aviation Leasing, described the addition of the A330-300P2F as a significant milestone in diversifying the company’s portfolio with versatile aircraft tailored to customer growth. He expressed enthusiasm about partnering with MAS as the carrier expands its widebody cargo operations, while also acknowledging the professionalism and collaboration demonstrated by the Airbus team throughout the deal.
Michael Steen, CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide, underscored Titan’s capacity to provide innovative and adaptable fleet solutions that support customer growth. He noted that the new aircraft would help meet the increasing global demand for air cargo and exemplify the scale and ambition of the TAI 2 platform.
Robert van de Weg, CEO of MAS, highlighted the cooperative effort involving Airbus Financial Services, Rolls Royce, and Titan Aviation Leasing. He expressed confidence that the A330-300P2F would become a vital component of MAS’s fleet, continuing to generate value for its customers.
Francois Collet, Head of Trading and Structured Finance at Airbus, emphasized that the transaction leverages Titan’s expertise in leasing and the freight market to support MAS, an important and expanding Airbus customer. He also noted that the deal reflects a shared commitment to advancing the A330-300P2F program.
Aircraft Capabilities and Market Context
The Airbus A330-300P2F, developed in collaboration with ST Engineering and Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), offers a payload capacity of up to 61 tonnes and a range of 3,650 nautical miles. These specifications make it well-suited to MAS’s growing regional and international freight operations, particularly amid rising global e-commerce and trade flows.
Titan’s expansion occurs amid significant shifts in the aircraft leasing sector. The recent $7.4 billion acquisition of Air Lease by a consortium led by SMBC Aviation Capital is expected to intensify competition and exert pricing pressures across the market. Industry analysts anticipate that such consolidation may prompt major players to adjust their leasing strategies to maintain market share and profitability. In this evolving landscape, Titan’s strategy to diversify its fleet and secure long-term partnerships positions the company to navigate these challenges effectively.
