The crew climbed to 6,000 feet and entered a holding pattern northwest of Washington, where they spent nearly two hours and forty minutes dumping fuel to reduce the aircraft’s weight in preparation for landing, according to FlightAware data.

After completing the fuel dump, the flight crew requested an Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach to Runway 19 Centre.
