This blueprint aims to position Malaysia as a significant player within the global aerospace supply chain. Ambitious Growth Targets and Industry Expansion In 2025, Malaysia’s aerospace sector generated RM32.5 billion ($7.9 billion) in revenue, with exports contributing RM7.95 billion ($1.93 billion), representing nearly a quarter of the total industry output. The MAIB 2030 sets a target to elevate annual revenue to RM55.2 billion ($13.4 billion) by the end of the decade. This growth is expected to be driven by several key segments. The MRO sector aims to achieve RM20.4 billion ($4.96 billion) in revenue, capturing 5% of the global MRO market and up to half of Southeast Asia’s MRO activities by 2030. Aerospace manufacturing is projected to reach RM21.2 billion ($5.15 billion), while engineering and design services are forecasted to generate RM13.6 billion ($3.31 billion). The sector is also expected to create more than 32,000 high-income jobs, reflecting its role as a catalyst for skilled employment. Investment inflows have been robust, with approximately RM1.5 billion ($365 million) in approved investments recorded in 2024 alone.
