Embraer and Republic Airways Sign E-Jets Maintenance Agreement

Embraer and Republic Airways Renew Long-Term E-Jets Maintenance Agreement
Embraer and the US regional carrier Republic Airways have formalized a renewed long-term maintenance agreement covering the airline’s fleet of over 240 E170 and E175 jets. Announced on October 16, 2025, this extension continues a partnership that began in 2011, guaranteeing ongoing heavy maintenance support for Republic’s E-Jets at Embraer’s Services & Support facilities in Nashville, Tennessee.
Frank Stevens, Vice President of MRO Services at Embraer Services & Support, emphasized the company’s commitment to quality and safety, stating, “We are very excited to extend our relationship with Republic Airways. This renewed agreement reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality maintenance services to our customers. We will continue to prioritize safety and quality for Republic Airways and all our customers across the United States.”
Under the terms of the new agreement, Embraer will provide an additional 225 heavy maintenance visits and allocate three maintenance bays exclusively for Republic Airways. This arrangement is designed to support the airline’s operational requirements and enhance scheduling flexibility. Since the inception of their partnership, Republic has completed more than 650 heavy maintenance visits and accumulated over 3.3 million labor hours at the Nashville facility.
Industry Context and Market Developments
The renewal comes amid ongoing challenges in the aviation sector, particularly concerning engine reliability and supply chain disruptions. Recent difficulties encountered by Ascend Airways with CFM Leap engine reliability on its Boeing 737 Max fleet have heightened concerns about the dependability of CFM engines, which also power Embraer’s E-Jets. These issues pose potential risks to maintenance schedules and operational efficiency for carriers such as Republic Airways.
Despite these industry headwinds, Embraer has maintained positive momentum in the regional jet market. The manufacturer recently secured a substantial order from LATAM for 24 E195-E2 jets, with options for an additional 50 aircraft. Furthermore, Airlink has expanded its fleet with the E2 series, signaling growing confidence in Embraer’s product line. These developments highlight Embraer’s strengthening position even as competitors and lessors navigate similar supply chain and engine reliability challenges.
Republic Airways operates nearly 1,000 daily flights on behalf of American Eagle, Delta Connection, and United Express, serving destinations across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Central America. The extended maintenance agreement with Embraer is intended to ensure continued operational reliability and support for Republic’s extensive network amid evolving industry conditions.
