The MAEVE Jet: Design and Capabilities

The MAEVE Jet is engineered to accommodate between 76 and 100 passengers, with an operational range spanning 950 to 1,450 nautical miles (approximately 1,759 to 2,685 kilometers). Maeve Aerospace anticipates that the hybrid-electric propulsion system will deliver substantial fuel savings and a marked reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. Central to the aircraft’s design are new-generation open-rotor engines, rear-mounted and developed by Pratt & Whitney Canada, which are expected to enhance efficiency and environmental performance. The smaller variant of the MAEVE Jet is being specifically tailored to comply with the United States’ scope clause agreements, potentially enabling regional carriers to incorporate the aircraft into their fleets. The maiden flight is projected for 2030.

As part of the collaboration, JAL and Maeve Aerospace will conduct joint studies to assess the operational requirements for deploying the MAEVE Jet within Japan.
