Abra Group picks CFM LEAP engines for 50 more A320neos

Abra Group Expands CFM LEAP Engine Partnership with Airbus A320neo Order
CFM International has secured a significant order from Abra Group to supply LEAP-1A engines for 50 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft previously unallocated within Avianca’s fleet. This order completes the remaining portion of Avianca’s 134-aircraft commitment to the A320neo family and reinforces the longstanding collaboration between CFM and Abra Group. The agreement also includes a comprehensive services package, encompassing spare engines and long-term maintenance support, ensuring operational reliability and efficiency.
Strengthening Regional Leadership in CFM-Powered Fleets
In addition to supporting Avianca’s A320neo aircraft, the long-term services agreement extends to GOL’s Boeing 737 MAX fleet, further consolidating Abra Group’s position as the largest operator of CFM-powered aircraft in Latin America. Adrian Neuhauser, Chief Executive Officer of Abra Group, emphasized that these agreements enhance the group’s focus on reliability, cost predictability, fuel efficiency, and overall performance across its airlines.
Upon delivery of all aircraft, the combined A320neo and 737 MAX fleets will elevate Abra Group’s installed base of LEAP-powered aircraft to more than 650, including both active service and orders. Alongside the group’s existing fleet of 176 CFM56-powered aircraft, this latest commitment solidifies Abra Group’s status as CFM International’s largest operator in the Latin American market.
