Newbow Begins GSE Sales and Service Operations in Saudi Arabia

Newbow Expands Ground Support Equipment Operations into Saudi Arabia
In response to growing demand within Saudi Arabia’s commercial aviation sector, UK-based ground support equipment (GSE) manufacturer Newbow Aerospace has entered into an exclusive sales and service partnership with Riyadh-based GGAS Aviation Services. This agreement grants GGAS the rights to distribute Newbow’s comprehensive product range to airlines and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers throughout the Kingdom. In addition to sales, GGAS will deliver in-country aftersales support, including repairs, calibration, spare parts supply, and training, ensuring that equipment is maintained to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards. The partnership has already seen the delivery of the first shipment of service carts and wheel change trailers, with GGAS maintaining a local stock of Newbow OEM parts.
Strategic Alignment with Saudi Vision 2030
Newbow’s expansion into Saudi Arabia aligns with the country’s broader efforts to modernize and localize key industries under the Saudi Vision 2030 framework. The aviation sector is a critical component of this vision, with infrastructure development accelerating to meet increasing passenger and cargo demands. Following a record year of trading and rising demand for its premium GSE products—including wheel and brake change trailers as well as nitrogen and oxygen carts—Newbow has responded by increasing manufacturing capacity through the recruitment of additional fabricators.
The move into the Saudi market occurs amid intensifying competition and shifting market dynamics. The Kingdom’s industrial landscape is experiencing rapid growth, with strategic investments flowing into sectors such as oil and gas, mining, and renewable energy from major players like Penspen and Ma’aden. This heightened activity is expected to prompt competitive responses, including aggressive pricing and enhanced service offerings, as companies seek to secure market share. Furthermore, evolving regulatory frameworks and the adoption of advanced technologies and sustainability initiatives are likely to influence operational strategies and investor confidence within the aviation support sector.
Partnership Perspectives and Sustainability Focus
Marc Green, Sales Director at Newbow Aerospace, underscored the importance of the partnership with GGAS Aviation Services. He noted that while Newbow has previously worked directly with Saudi airlines and MROs, the surge in demand over the past year necessitated collaboration with a reputable local partner to provide enhanced customer support. Green described the agreement as a significant milestone in Newbow’s international growth strategy and emphasized its alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Green also highlighted Newbow’s commitment to sustainability, pointing to anticipated demand for the company’s innovative solar-powered trailers. These units incorporate lightweight, flexible solar panels that enable independent power generation, reflecting a broader industry trend toward environmentally responsible ground operations.
Sacha Romain, Vice President of Operations & Business Development at GGAS Aviation Services, characterized the partnership as a landmark development for the company. He emphasized that the collaboration enables the delivery of premium UK-manufactured GSE supported by responsive aftersales service, training, and technical support. Romain further noted that the introduction of Newbow’s sustainable product lines, particularly the solar-powered trailer systems, enhances operational efficiency and demonstrates a shared commitment to reducing the environmental impact of aviation ground operations.
Romain described the partnership as more than a distribution agreement, framing it as a long-term alliance aimed at supporting the modernization and localization of aviation services within Saudi Arabia.
As Newbow and GGAS Aviation Services advance their collaboration, they do so against a backdrop of rapid sectoral growth, technological innovation, and increasing emphasis on sustainability—factors that will shape the competitive landscape and future opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s aviation support market.
