Overwatch AI Raises $1.5 Million to Enhance Airline Operations

Overwatch AI Secures $1.5 Million to Advance Airline Operations Amid Rising Competition
Overwatch AI, a technology platform dedicated to optimizing aviation operations for pilots and airline crews, has successfully raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding. The investment round was led by United Airlines Ventures, Baobab Ventures, Pegasus Innovation Lab, and Masia, with additional support from angel investors including David Bennett and Alex Brooker.
Streamlining Aviation Through Operational Intelligence
Founded in 2025 by former airline pilot Leo Kotil and technology entrepreneur Nikita Kaeshko, Overwatch AI seeks to simplify the complexities inherent in airline operations. Its operational intelligence platform integrates disparate data sources and documentation, allowing aviation teams to retrieve critical information via natural language queries. Importantly, all responses are drawn from official documentation, ensuring compliance and fostering operational confidence.
Currently, the platform is actively deployed in live flight operations across several airlines, managing over 30,000 flights each month. According to the company, the system significantly reduces the time crews spend searching for information, while improving efficiency and consistency in decision-making processes. The newly acquired funds will be directed towards expanding the team, enhancing the platform’s capabilities, and supporting further airline deployments in the near future.
Navigating a Competitive and Evolving Market
Overwatch AI’s emergence in the AI-driven aviation sector coincides with intensifying competition. Established firms such as Scout AI, which recently secured $100 million to develop its uncrewed fleet system, and SkyfireAI, which raised $11 million for AI-powered drone technology, are aggressively pursuing market share. This surge in investment and innovation is expected to accelerate the advancement and adoption of sophisticated AI solutions across the aviation industry, potentially altering market dynamics and pricing structures.
As competition intensifies, incumbent companies may accelerate their own AI initiatives to preserve their market positions. The broader AI ecosystem, including infrastructure providers like Oracle and CoreWeave, is also likely to experience significant impacts as rapid technological progress and funding challenges reshape the landscape for both startups and established players.
Despite these challenges, Overwatch AI’s recent funding round highlights strong investor confidence in its approach to improving operational efficiency and regulatory compliance within aviation. The forthcoming months will be critical in determining how effectively the startup can scale its technology and maintain competitiveness in an increasingly crowded field.
